Female hawk
rescued from I-95

After being evaluated by Dr. Edward Frankel of Honeybrook Animal Hospital, we determined that the young female Red-tailed Hawk would not recover from her injuries and would never fly again. It was a difficult decision to make, but we opted to humanely euthanize the hawk as we have to consider the animal's overall well being and did not wish to prolong its suffering.

We thank everyone who has been concerned about her. Even though this hawk could not have been saved, we are hopeful that the other Red-tailed Hawks, shown at left, will be released back into the wild after their rehabilitation is complete.

Please remember, we only accept the following types of injured and orphaned birds:

If you have found one of the above listed birds, please place it in a cardboard box on a towel with a lid and ventilation holed ONLY if you can safely do so. Call us immediately at 215.779.0731.

Please be prepared to transport the animal. Please read the Important Notes section on the left for helpful information on working with Wildlife Rehabilitators.
